Job Description

Outside Sales / Business Development:

  • Processing customer orders via phone, fax and email.
  • Answer incoming customer inquiries via phone, fax and email (In a friendly manner). Provide accurate information to customers, providing requested information and alternative solutions as available. If questions are beyond the scope of the Reps knowledge, they will advise the customer, and offer to research the answer and/or forward to other team members or the appropriate Rep.
  • Perform a follow up contact by email and/or phone.
  • Develop cross-selling and up-selling techniques.
  • Implementing sales strategies and call prioritization to achieve revenue and meet targets as assigned.
  • Attend and be involved in Staff Coaching and training meetings. Learn and practice techniques for personal development and team interaction.
  • Maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tact to portray the company in a positive manner.
  • Work with purchaser to receive and process courier shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • The initial focus will be to help with business development in Barrie. The priority is to continue to diversify the Barrie customer base. Current customers, commercial and industrial shops will be the initial outside focus in Barrie.
  • There would be office and counter time needed as we work together to share the load
  • You will be required to quote your customers and may be required to source items with the purchasing team
  • We need you to a plan for your first 30 / 60 / 90 days
  • Learning the systems and processes is ongoing
  • Fastek supplied vehicle for sales/demos and deliveries as needed


  • G-Class Driver's License with clean driving history


  • Knowledge of construction and industrial products including fasteners, screws, bolts, anchors, abrasives and safety supplies is an asset
