Second Career is a Provincial Program designed to help laid-off workers retrain for jobs that offers good employment opportunities and helps them get back to work quickly.
What Second Career gives you
You can get new skills – those needed for jobs in demand now – and financial support if you qualify for Second Career.
Qualified applicants can receive financial help with tuition, books and supplies, transportation and living expenses associated with their education and even child care.
While the Second Career program is open to all laid-off workers, the Ontario government is making it easier and faster for laid-off workers to access the Second Career program. If you were laid off from one of the sectors most impacted by COVID-19 since March 1, 2020, you may benefit from these changes. Contact to see if you qualify.
